There has been much controversy over energy drinks and food bars in recent years. You will find a lot of people who swear by them and others who make claims to the contrary. You will find some energy drinks that have either been regulated or banned all together. There is a wide variety of availability these days in energy, food, diet bars and drinks on the market and some are definitely better for you than others. Here are a few facts regarding those that are safe and healthy for you to consume. Also, one of my favorite weight loss supplements is Shakeology. Check out these Shakeology reviews.
The main source of energy you get from energy drinks is caffeine. This is the stimulant in the coffee and tea people all over the world consume in the morning or throughout the day. Energy drinks, however, often contain higher levels of caffeine that a cup of coffee. If you are using energy drinks to quench your thirst you are likely to drink more of them in a shorter amount of time. You can suffer from anxiety, insomnia headaches, heart trouble and a whole gamut of other problems from this caffeine over dose. So you may want to return to the old fashioned way of getting your caffeine and switch to plain water, or at least a caffeine-free beverage when you exercise.
Energy or food bars can be nutritional, or they can be only a smaller amount that sugar-filled candy bars presented with labels that portray them as a healthy option. The truth is, however, you can effortlessly consume foods that are similar to a healthy energy bar without spending money on this packaged merchandise. The best food bars have nutritionally dense foods like nuts, seeds and fruits, so if you get into the habit of eating these foods as snacks, you can save money and get the same benefits. Healthy trail mixes are a really good snack, as long as they’re not packed with chocolate candy or other junk foods that are now typically slipped into trail mixes. The right food bars can be nutritious, but you can also find the equivalent without buying them.
Watch out for disguised sugars that add to the already high amount of sugars in these bars. One of the most common sweeteners used today is high fructose corn syrup, which has been linked with many health problems from liver diseases to diabetes. This is not a product you want to tangle with if your goal is weight loss. Another sweetener that has recently been outed as high in fructose is agave nectar. The reality is that energy drinks and bars high in any sweetener really aren’t beneficial to your health.
Energy drinks and food bars, then come in many assortments and some are a lot better than others. Keep in mind, however, that even the best among them are not meant to be consumed all day in place of water and real foods. Notwithstanding how natural a package states that it is, it can’t be as genuine as whole foods or a glass of unpolluted water. Concisely, it’s alright to drink energy drinks occasionally or eat a food bar as a snack, except you shouldn’t demand them to present you with all your nutritional demands. Last but not least, don’t forget to look at this post called “meal replacement shakes“.
