Facts About Alkaline Food

The alkaline food approach is somewhat different from any other approach to eating currently in circulation. Instead of placing foods off limits dependent on how much saturated fat or how many calories they provide, this diet needs a balance between foods that are strongly acidic within the body and those that are more alkaline within the body.

It doesn’t matter how acidifying they appear to be in their crude state outside the body. Rather, the important thing is how it acts within your body once it has been broken down and digested. The result that more than a little of the alkaline food championed by the alkaline diet are considered unhealthy by many other diets and their supporters.

Potatoes

Sweet potatoes are often touted as the healthiest substitute for the starchy white potato, but when you eat alkaline food, you are free to have potatoes of every type. This is really one of the best foods on this diet because they are very packed with alkalinity inside the body. Therefore, they are a good way to to balance out acidic foods that are consumed.

Your body will neutralize acids with the aid of alkaline minerals to prevent your system from suffering the harmful effects of excessive internal acidity. There are also many nutrients in a potato which your body requires to work properly.

Clarified Butter

All of us know that fat is bad, right? Well, on the alkaline diet, a small quantity of clarified butter, or ghee, is not necessarily off limits. This somewhat alkaline form of butter has been used in Ayurvedic treatments for centuries. And although saturated fat should be consumed in moderation, this will happen almost automatically when you follow the alkaline diet.

On a final note, all foods must be well balanced and eaten in proper portions on the alkaline diet. While these two foods are widely enjoyed by followers, it is not an excuse to indulge in them in gigantic amounts on a regular basis.

Acid Alkaline Food List: 3 Common Mistakes

Posted by on Monday, 8 March, 2010

An accurate acid alkaline food list is the single thing you unquestionably need to have if you want to make the most of your alkaline diet. However, when you start looking for a list of this kind, you rapidly find out that although there are countless lists available around the Internet, the majority of them are nearly useless.

What’s Wrong with Acid Alkaline Food Lists?

The first problem with the typical alkaline food list is that it leaves out the foods that you truly care about. Some lists manage to include some unusual foods, but for some reason neglect to mention the foods most people eat frequently, such as bananas, milk, and rice.

Secondly, many lists is that they have too many mistakes to be any use. Some lists seem to have been created by people who are unaware that the science behind the alkaline diet has evolved a great deal over the past few decades. Imagine, you could believe that you are adhering to the alkaline diet perfectly, and still not achieve your goal because you are relying on inaccurate information. If you don’t want this to happen to you, keep reading.

The third problem with acid and alkaline food lists is that they’re hard to use. The’re often so crammed full of obscure foods that they use up most of the ink in your printer. Or else they’re so poorly designed that it’s not easy to tell at a glance whether a food is acid-producing or alkaline-producing.

Get to Know a Superior Acid Alkaline Food List

I got so annoyed with these poorly designed food lists that I decided to create my own. The result is a one-page chart that shows at a glance how 127 popular foods affect your pH. After experimenting with several formats, I decided that a color-coded rating system would be the best way to show at a glance precisely how foods affect your body. Best of all, I’m giving back to the alkaline diet community by making this chart available for free at the Alkaline Diet Blog.

Healthy Diet Plan Can Be Tailored To Be More Attractive And Effective

Posted by on Thursday, 28 January, 2010

The true meaning of the phrase ‘healthy diet plan‘ needs to be understood before trying to create one or even follow one that already exists. Most of us when asked what a phrase such as this means will immediately imagine having to eat their salads without any dressings and also eating whole grain toasts without applying any butter on the surface. This means that we tend to imagine all sorts of morbid things which however need not always be the case. It is in fact possible to eat healthily but without having to follow a boring diet plan.

The right kind of healthy diet plan can actually be made to be quite interesting and it can go beyond eating dishes that contain no fat and it also means eating foods other than tasteless and bland dishes with few calories in them. You can certainly continue to eat tasty items of foods and you can also change the type of foods you eat so that you are not forced into eating the same types of foods day in and day out.

You only need to start off the plan by looking at a food pyramid and then find out which foods from this pyramid can help you achieve a healthier body. To get more options you should search over the net to find out from the many different sites what foods are good for you and which recipes you should make use of to create the right kind of healthy but enjoyable foods.

Even after you have created a diet plan that consists of healthy foods it is necessary that you act with resolve and determination in sticking to the diet plan and not giving up when things become slightly more difficult. In addition, you have to learn to avoid certain kinds of messages that are promoted by various kinds of media in which the message is skewed in order to serve certain purposes.

Therefore, you must not allow yourself to be influenced by those extra thin models sporting very sparse amount of fat on their bodies. Instead you need to realize that eating the right foods is better than starving the body.

The good news is that following a healthy food diet does not in any way mean that you have to permanently give up eating pizzas or other foods that you love to eat. All that is required is that instead of eating an entire pizza that you limit your consumption to a single part of the pizza.

And, if you love chocolate bars then you only need to remember to eat the bar over several days and not in a single go.

You must avoid extreme behaviors because it is better to focus on eating the right foods in the right quantities and you need to also be sensitive to the needs of your body. This is really the key to eating healthy with a healthy diet plan. You don’t need to mistreat your body in order to stay healthy.

Alkaline Water Benefits

Posted by on Tuesday, 1 December, 2009

Alkaline Water benefits are amazing for all age groups!

A Very Powerful Antioxidant
The antioxidant properties are the centerpiece of ionized alkaline water.

Water ionizer machines will change normal tap water into alkaline water and acidic ionized water. Through the electrolysis process, hydroxyl ions are produced in the alkaline ionized water. These hydroxyl ions seek out and neutralize free radicals, making them wonderful free radical scavengers.

As you can see, this is significant since free radicals are what cause damage to our cells, bringing about disease and (premature) aging. When the hydroxyl ions as an antioxidant have neutralized the free radicals the result is a body rich in oxygen and energy.

An Effective Alkalizing Agent As It Works To Balance The Body’s Ph

Keeping yourself alkaline is your first line of defense in fighting any disease and alkaline ionized water creates a major impact in balancing the body’s pH.

When your body is too acidic, it will provide an ideal environment for diseases thrive inside your body. For example, accumulated acid waste in the joints encourages inflammation and arthritis. It turns acidic wastes into solids and stores them in fatty tissues resulting in hardening of the arteries and excess weight. Our body works hard to eliminate or balance out this excess acid by taking calcium from the bones, and magnesium needed for heart health.

Therefore, one of the keys to great health is keeping the body alkaline and pH properly balanced. As a result of the predominance of hydroxyl ions produced, making the water highly alkaline, drinking plenty of ionized alkaline water will help balance your body pH and dissolves accumulated acid waste.

A Powerful Detoxifier and Superior Hydrator

Chronic cellular dehydration, one of the primary causes of disease, can leave the body’s cells in a perpetual state of weakness. Drinking alkaline ionized water can be up to six times more hydrating than “conventional” drinking water and will help with this condition.

Because of its small molecular grouping, alkaline water is commonly called reduced water. Typically, water molecules are group together in clusters of 10-13. Alkaline Ionized Water molecule clusters are reduced in size since they are clustered into 5-6 water molecules. Because the size and shape of the water molecule cluster is smaller, the water cluster is extremely penetrating and can pass through our cells more easily.

As it hydrates the body tissue, it helps cleanse your body of toxins or any thing else that do not belong. Thus, being superior hydrator and a powerful antioxidant, alkaline ionized water is very detoxifying.

Some Other Alkaline Water Benefits
– Helps with losing weight!

– Improves the taste and quality of food.

– You will be able to absorb the nutrients from the foods you eat better.

– Due to the extra oxygen ionized water supplies most users report a lot more clarity of mind and energy.

– Helps your skin look healthier through effective hydration.

Bob McCauley, the author of The Miraculous Properties of Ionized Water, calls ionized water a powerful antioxidant, an effective alkalizing and hydrating agent, a detoxifier, and “one of the greatest health advances in human history”.
