How Toxic Food Is Making You Gain Weight Rapidly

Posted by on Tuesday, 23 February, 2010

How others are always talking about losing weight fast is very important. This article will provide you with the info that you need to make this happen. Most people eat poison every day without even thinking about it.Even small amounts of the substance has been scientifically linked to heart disease, type II diabetes, and a destructive effect on nearly every cell in your body.

This poison is a food additive called trans fatty acids (TFAs). TFAs come from the hydrogenation of vegetable oils and are all man-made except some which are found in dairy products.

New food labeling laws brought the problem of TFAs to public attention since 2006. TFAs have even been banned from restaurants in some states.

Research has shown increased deaths from myocardial infarction and CHD with even small amounts of the substance.

While some groups who eat a lot of fried food and pastries get up to 10% of their energy from TFAs, countries where fast food is something new also have high rates, while people the United States get about 3% of their energy from TFAs. The government says that the most TFA intake should be 1% which is about 2 g, but others say that there is no safe level of TFAs.

With the knowledge of the dangers of trans fats so prevalent we have to ask why. The reason is that TFAs are used to produce food that has a long life restorers and transportation.

Although a lot of people heard of TFAs, a lot of ignorance remains as well as inaction.

For example 73% of Americans realize that TFAs increased heart disease risks, according to the American diabetic Association. The percentage of awareness seems to be increasing. Unfortunately, the increased awareness hasn’t changed much behavior according to University of Colorado researcher Robert Eckel. The ADA to the survey that showed that 79% of Americans were unable to name three foods that contain trans fats.

Although public service announcements have raised awareness of the dangers of TFAs, it just hasn’t been enough to change the way people eat.

1. Look at the ingredients that are in your food. If you’re food contains hydrogenated oils such as soybean, cottonseed, and palm oils, it has TFA content.

2. Be aware of labeling loophole’s. Companies want you to think that their foods are free of TFA, so they will say zero trans fats even if they have hydrogenated oils in the ingredients. Because the government allows them to claim zero trans fat if they have less than half a gram of trans fat per serving, they will change the serving size until it is so small that the TFA content is less than half per serving.

3. Eat label – less foods. if you eat natural foods like brown rice, fruits, nuts, and fish, you won’t have to worry about TFAs. These are also some ways on how to lose weight fast.

4. Avoid foods that often contain TFAs. These foods are baked, fried and packaged foods like biscuits, packaged popcorn, taco shells, breaded chicken, and the list just goes on.

Overall health will benefit from the initiatives in education and legislation and are worth supporting. I don’t like calling foods forbidden or referring to them as poisonous, but foods with trans fats are a definite exception. If you cannot totally eliminate TFAs from your diet at least try to be more conscious of to keep them to a minimum. You need to be careful too because TFAs they become replaced by something that is worse if they are banned.

Some Tips For Natural And Low Calorie Eating

Posted by on Tuesday, 9 February, 2010

Eating green is becoming more and more popular as Americans become more health conscious. We eat junk food and make bad food choices all the time. Heavy foods like pizza make us feel sluggish, and healthy foods make us feel better and more energetic. Also, people are trying to be more environmentally minded these days.

Eating organic foods is the best thing you can do, but unfortunately, not many of us can afford to eat fully organic every day. The FDA has stringent standards on food so it’s okay to eat regular foods, but if you can afford to get organic fruits and vegetables, even better.

A fun way to get into natural eating is by looking up recipes online. There are tons of health and wellness websites with recipes you can choose from. If you have the latest kindle, you can even look up cookbooks that way so you can have it right in the kitchen with you.

Wild caught salmon, which means the salmon has not been unnaturally farm raised, is the best type of salmon to buy. Cage free eggs, in which the chickens have not been cooped up in cages and are allowed to run free, are the best type of eggs to buy. Try to get low fat cheeses and dairy, as these can be high in fat.

Planting your own garden is a good way to get free organic vegetables. You can grow some in window pots or start your own from seed. Tomatoes and basil are a good and easy seed to start with. Herbs are also an easy start when first gardening.

If it’s natural skin benefits you’re looking for, vegetables can help with that too. Cucumbers have long been known to have skin benefits, and sugar scrubs, which can be made at home with minimal ingredients, are said to be as good as getting a glycolic peel. Try cucumbers for puffiness around the eyes.

If you’re going to eat naturally you should also use natural products for any health issues. Red wine has an anti-cancer agent called resveratrol, and the Agaricus brazil mushroom has been said to have anti-cancer fighting agents as well. Pinot Noir is supposed to have the most resveratrol.

Eating an organic, low fat diet will help you to feel better mentally and physically. If you can, try to grow your own produce. If that’s out of the question, organic farmers will usually do local farmers markets. Fresh foods and produce can be found there for a better price than in the grocery stores.

Eat Fiber To Burn Fat Fast

Posted by on Saturday, 26 December, 2009

Is it hard for you to burn fat fast? As we grow older, so does the rest of our body. It seems like our metabolism starts to be at the pace of a snail. How do we fight this?

Raw foods, both fruits and vegetables, provide high quantities of fiber. Eating lots of fiber has a ton of benefits: gets your digestion flowing, boosts your immune system and helps you to lose weight fast.

Recommended intake of fiber is 25g per day, which should come from at least 5 different servings of fruits and vegetables as well as 6 servings of grain products – half of which should be whole grain.

There are two types of fiber found in raw foods: Soluble and Insoluble Fiber. The real power for your health is in understand how these 2 types of fiber can work for you. Both soluble and insoluble fiber can not be digested or absorbed into the bloodstream, but is still fundamental to the digestive process.  These are considered fast fat burning foods and should be eaten daily. Here’s how:

Soluble Fiber
Soluble fiber binds fats together and slows down the blood sugar response. When your blood sugar is regulated properly, you don’t have blood sugar spikes.

If you suffer from lifestyle diseases such as cancer, heart disease, or diabetes, or if you are trying to burn fat fast, then it is essential to  add more than 25 grams of fiber per day.

Soluble fiber also has been associated with lowering total cholesterol and the now famously bad LDL cholesterol, thereby reducing the risk of heart disease.

Foods that have soluble fiber include: oats, dried beans, nuts, flax seed, apples, carrots and broccoli.

Insoluble Fiber
Insoluble fiber moves bulk through the intestines which aids regular bowel movements and prevents constipation.  It also helps control or balance the pH (acidity) level in our intestines by removing toxic waste through the colon in less time.

Maintaining an optimal level of pH within the intestines helps prevent microbes from producing cancerous substances which in turn prevents colon cancer.

Insoluble fiber can be found in green beans, spinach, strawberries, carrot and apple peelings and whole wheat items

To burn fat fast, eat forty grams of soluble & insoluble fiber every day.
